Drivers crossing the Owensboro Bridge should expect delays and rolling road blocks in the coming weeks due to required inspections. The work will be addressed June 6-10 and June 13-17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. each day.
Inspectors will also be climbing the truss spans as part of the inspection and may require rolling road blocks to drop off/pick up climbers outside the 9 a.m.-2 p.m. window.
Open to traffic in 1940, the Owensboro Bridge carries approximately 7,300 vehicles daily.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet asks motorists to be aware of the work zone, expect delays, and to utilize safe driving habits when traveling through the area.
