Teen, juvenile charged with arson at City parking garage

OPD issued a correction to this news release. The original news release incorrectly listed the subject as Jared Fuqua. The adult charged in this case is actually Jacob Fuqua.


According to an Owensboro Police Department news release, at approximately 8:33 a.m. Tuesday, OPD responded to the City parking garage located at 112 Daviess Street on a fire in the stairwell. Officers located three trash cans that had been set on fire in three different areas.

Detectives responded and charged Jared Fuqua, 18, of Owensboro with third degree arson and third degree unlawful transaction with a minor. He is currently lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center. A 12-year-old female juvenile was also charged with third degree arson in this case.
