
Ursula Jean Wheatley Alexander, age 90 of Louisville, KY passed away September 13, 2024, 3 days shy of her 91st birthday, at Little Sisters of the Poor Nursing Facility. She was born in Breckinridge County on September 16, 1933, daughter of the late Mary Magdalene Henning and William Wheatley. Ursula was a former member of St. Denis Altar Society and was very active in church ministries. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, making quilts and reading. She was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and looked forward to attending the class reunions and picnics. Her family was her life and she treasured the titles Mom and Mamaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jeff Alexander and siblings Jody Wheatley (Mabel), Charlie Wheatley (Lucille), Tom “Sug” Wheatley (Joyce), Leo Wheatley (Candy), Bobby Wheatley (Ruby), Pat Wheatley, Marty Kannapel (Merl), Mary Ann Johnson (Leroy).
Ursula is survived by 2 sons Kevin Alexander and Carl Alexander (Chris) of Louisville, KY
8 grandchildren: Ryan Alexander, Ashley Baurle (Josh), Andrew J. Alexander (Brittany), Tim Alexander (Nora), Matthew Alexander (Eve), Christopher Alexander (Michele), Andrew P. Alexander (Rachel) and Dawn Alexander-Elzy (Randall)
18 great grandchildren: Noah, Addilyn, Elli, Penelope, Lincoln, Greta Jo, Dakota, Hunter, Alex, Dean, Nathan, Peyton, Kendall, Kaelyn, Natalie, Grayson, Jack and William
4 great-great grandchildren: Emmett, Odis, Harriett and Henrietta
1 sister-in-law: Ruby Wheatley of Hardinsburg, KY
Many nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church in Hardinsburg, KY on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 4-8 PM and Friday, 8 – 10:15 AM. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 6 PM. All times are central.
