John B. Sipes, II, age 78 of Harned, KY passed away May 25, 2025, at Kentucky Continue Care Hospital in Madisonville, KY. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on September 20, 1946, son of the late Anna Rae Payne and Sheridan Sipes. He spent many years traveling the roads as an employee of Kevin Lucas Trucking. John was a regular member of the Hardee’s group who gathered each morning for breakfast and to catch up on the latest news. He was a UK Wildcats fan, enjoyed car shows and mowing his lawn. He was crazy about his grandchildren and loved visits with them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Willoughby.
John is survived by his wife Kathy Sipes of Harned, KY
3 children: John B. Sipes, III of Elizabethtown, KY; Amanda Feather of Hardinsburg, KY and Jessica Wilkins (Corey Mattox) of Radcliff, KY
8 grandchildren: Ashley Wilson (Jeremy), Amber Hales (Dustin), Derek Sipes (Bethany), Teri Standridge (Joey), Dominick Sipes, Emily Wilkins, Lilly Feather and Kenna Feather
5 great grandchildren
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 6 PM with cremation to follow. Visitation will be held on Thursday, 2:30 – 6 PM. All times are central.
