Jo Ann Heppler, 72, of Henderson, passed away on June 11, 2025. She was born, on March 11, 1953, to the late Percy Allen and Nevada (Wilkerson) Hundley.
Jo worked as a crossing guard for the Henderson Police Department, where her dedication to the safety of local children was both steadfast and heartfelt. A member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jo was also deeply rooted in her faith, attending both Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and Holy Name Catholic Church throughout her life. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality—she found joy in gardening, creating art and crafts, and admiring birds and the beauty of nature. Jo had a passion for travel and music, loved playing tennis, and never passed up a chance to ride on a motorcycle. Her hands were rarely still, whether she was sewing something special or simply embracing the rhythm of a life well-lived.
Along with her parents, Jo is preceded in death by her first husband, Ronnie Linton.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Lee Salazar, Jennifer (David) Beauchamp, Meaghan Linton, and Shala (Chase) Heppler; her grandchildren, Cora Hancock, Haley Hancock, Mia Salazar, Meise Salazar, Cristabella Salazar, Sydney Meyer, Raylen Hollis, Alexandria Beauchamp, Samantha Beauchamp, Kaitlynn Beauchamp, Jillian Stone, and Jetta Wheeler; her great-grandchildren, Brinleigh Meyer, Talia Hancock, Roland Hancock, and Micah Meyer, and her siblings, Beulah Stone, Wanda Hicks, Mary Plemmons, and Donna Mathison.
Celebration of life will take place at a later date.
