A pair of longtime stylists are putting their personal touch on a new salon in town. Jessica Ragan and Olivia Kirby, both seasoned professionals with more than a decade of experience, recently opened The Loft with Jess and Liv at 2767 Veach Road, Suite C.
Ragan said the salon opened about two weeks ago after an extensive remodel of the space. She and Kirby, whose maiden name is Olivia Hamilton, have worked side by side for 14 years and decided it was time to take a leap and open their own shop.
“We just decided there was a perfect opportunity, and we remodeled it and took a risk,” Ragan said. “It feels so good to finally own something of our own. We take a lot of pride in what we’ve created and the freedom that comes with it.”
The Loft aims to offer a quaint, relaxing environment where clients can enjoy a more intimate, one-on-one experience. Between them, Ragan and Kirby provide a full range of hair services, specializing in highlights, balayage, keratin treatments, and cuts for all hair lengths and styles. They also cater to formal events with updos and makeup applications.
“I specialize in combo brows and microblading for permanent makeup, and Olivia is really great with pixie cuts and vibrant colors — more funky styles,” Ragan said. “We love to tag-team weddings, too. She’ll usually do the hair, and I’ll handle the makeup.”
Ragan said they hope the welcoming vibe and personalized service will set The Loft apart.
The Loft with Jess and Liv is now accepting new clients. Ragan encourages customers to book appointments online through their booking apps — she uses GlossGenius, and Kirby uses Square.
