Follow the yellow brick road to The Empress Theater starting June 20, where Theatre Workshop of Owensboro’s young cast will bring flying monkeys, a pair of ruby slippers, and all your favorite Oz characters to life in a youth production of The Wizard of Oz.

Directed by Karen Feldhaus, this non-musical version of the timeless tale features performers ages 5 to 18 and promises laughter, adventure and a bit of Kansas magic for audiences of all ages.

The show runs through Sunday, June 29, with performances at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

Sponsored by Owensboro Times in the Schools and supported by the BJ Killian Foundation, the play is expected to draw big crowds, so families are encouraged to get tickets early.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased by calling 270-683-5333 or online at theatreworkshop.org.

So grab Toto and don’t miss the chance to see some of the area’s most talented young performers skip down the yellow brick road!
