Smith: DCFD responds to house fire on KY 54, no injuries reported

The Daviess County Fire Department is on the scene of a house fire in the 5700 block of KY 54. Crews have the fire under control, and the roadway has reopened after a brief closure.

According to Daviess County Public Safety Director Jeremy Smith, a call came in at approximately 9:53 a.m. about a house fire. Smith said the home was heavily damaged, but there were no injuries.

Smith said it appears the fire started near the garage, but the cause remains under investigation.

According to Owensboro-Daviess County Central Dispatch, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office rerouted both directions of traffic down Old Highway 54 until KY 54 reopened.
