The second annual RISE Summit, set for September 19–20, aims to equip and inspire caregivers of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a weekend of education, connection, and support.

Hosted by local nonprofit Puzzle Pieces, the event is designed by caregivers, for caregivers, and it offers attendees practical tools, expert insight, and a chance to build community with others navigating similar journeys. The Summit will take place at Owensboro Christian Church and includes a mix of keynote sessions, panels, and breakout workshops.

Organizers said this year’s programming will continue to reflect real-life experiences, focusing on topics such as advocacy, IEP collaboration, behavioral strategies, and long-term care solutions.

In addition to the breakout sessions, two featured panels this year are: a Marriage & Relationships Panel exploring the impact of caregiving on partnerships, and a Siblings’ Perspective Panel highlighting the experiences of brothers and sisters of those with disabilities.

The keynote address will be delivered by Jess Ronne, a nationally known caregiver, author, and founder of The Lucas Project. Her message will center on perseverance and purpose through the challenges of caregiving.

Tickets are available in two tiers. The $75 Summit Only option offers access to Saturday’s sessions, meals, and the Summit After Hours networking event. The $99 All-In Package additionally includes VIP entry to Friday evening’s Couples Panel and kickoff reception.

Registration is open now at puzzle-pieces.org/store, with limited space available.

In addition to its mission of caregiver support, the RISE Summit serves as a fundraiser for Puzzle Pieces, which provides a wide range of services for more than 400 individuals with disabilities in the region.
