Kimberly Ann Howard, 68, of Whitesville, passed away on July 25, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Kim was born in Hammond, Indiana, on August 22, 1956, to the late William and Patricia Murphy Burch. Kim enjoyed her family immensely and loved spending every moment with them. She worked diligently to care for each of her children and served as a tender caregiver for special needs clients. Her clients were dear to her, and she dedicated herself to them wholeheartedly. Kim was also involved in a local Bible study group and volunteered at Shepherds Hand, where she made many new friends and looked forward to going to help every week.
Those who knew Kim will remember her bright smile and loving nature. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel blessed and valued. She will be dearly missed by many. The family invites all to celebrate her life, honoring the words of 2 Timothy 4:7-8: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day.”
In addition to her parents, Kim is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Norris.
Kim is survived by her husband, Philip Ballard, her children, Gina (Mickey) Boarman, Kerri Howard, Lee (Heather) Howard, Adam (Shelley) Howard and Billy (Whitney) Howard; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and her siblings, Tammy (Jerry) Howard, Rick (Debbie) Burch, Deanna Norris and Tricia (Chester) Masterson.
A Funeral Mass will be said on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Whitesville, with burial following at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with prayers at 6:30 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville.
