Joseph E. Maynard, Sr., 48, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025 in
Breckenridge County. He was born in Merrillville, Indiana and was a 1995 honors graduate of
Edison High School in Lake Station, Indiana.
Joseph earned a degree at IvyTech College where he studied hydraulic engineering. He went on
to work as a millwright in industrial maintenance. Joe most recently worked at Specialty Food
Group.
He married his high school sweetheart in 1998 and became a dedicated husband, loving father,
wonderful provider and, in many ways, a teacher. Joe lived life to the fullest and especially
enjoyed fishing and boating. He was generous with his time, and with his ability to fix things, he
helped many people.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Lynn Maynard and many extended family
members.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, LaDonna Maynard; one son, Joseph E. Maynard, Jr. (fiance’
Cheyenne Miller); mother, Sandra Kay Dobson (Steve); brother, Ricky Maynard (Kelly); niece and
nephews, Jordan, Matthew and Joseph Maynard; sister-in-law, Wendie Perez (and her children,
Matthew and Jimmy Rusher-whom he treated like his own); as well as brothers-in-law, Jason
Webb and Ricky Perez, who he was also especially close to. He will be dearly missed by many.
