Ken Payne, 64, of Tell City, Indiana, passed away on August 28, 2025. He was born on February 8, 1961, to the late Thomas Anthony Payne and Ruth Jones Payne. Born in Owensboro, Kentucky, Ken proudly served as a Navy corpsman for 10 years. After his service, he went on to earn his MBA and built a career as an entrepreneur, founding a business in employment recruitment. He took great pride in connecting people with opportunities, carefully matching applicants with jobs that perfectly suited their skills, passions, and potential. His work not only helped individuals find meaningful careers but also strengthened the businesses and communities he served. Through his work, he touched countless lives, always striving to help others improve their situations with kindness, fairness, and care.
Ken was a man of many passions and endless creativity. He had a love for barbecuing, poetry, and exploring life’s deeper questions, often sharing these joys with family and friends in conversations that stretched long into the night. Inspired by the mysteries of metaphysics, art, music, and the beauty of ideas, he balanced logic with imagination and nurtured a deep appreciation for mathematics.
Along with his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Payne.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Renee Payne; his three children, Gloria Payne, Kenny Payne Jr., and James Payne; and his beloved grandchildren, Sophia Payne, Kayden Payne, and Violet Hibbs.
Ken will be remembered for his warm heart, thoughtful conversations, and the way he always brought people together with good food, laughter, and love
