Competing at the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold, Apollo’s boys team finished ninth and Daviess County was 11th, while on the girls’ side, the Lady Panthers placed sixth and the Lady Aces eighth.
For Apollo Noah Gray (8th, 15:34.9), Eli Currington (36th, 16:42.7), Keaton Boling (62nd, 17:14.5), Grayson Turner (111th, 17:58.7), and William Guadarrama (122nd, 18:08.1) rounded out the team’s top five times.
For the Panthers, Austin Spurrier (53rd, 17:02.9), Judson Redfern (57th, 17:10.0), Joseph Edge (82nd, 17:31.7), Landon Thompson (89, 17:36.8), Jordan Norris (17:40.2) led the way.
“The team performed very well,” Daviess County Head Coach James Loi said. “Varsity all ran their personal records or faster than last year. We are heading in the right direction and are still missing two to three key runners. The job is still not finished, and we still have work to do to hit the goals we want.”
Falling just three points behind fifth-place Lafayette (159), the Lady Panthers were led by Makenzie Ross (15th, 19:17.2), Haley Wolfe (31st, 19:51.3), Rylee Emmick (33rd, 20:05.0), Kloee Gaynor (46th, 20:17.8), and Bentlei Stallings (56th, 20:28.2).
For the Lady Aces, they were led by Peyton Reid (14th, 19:15.9), Ainsley Sutter (32nd, 19:54.9), Caroline Wathen (20:06.7), Ashlie Hayden (77th, 20:52.9), and Anna Katherine Wathen (112th, 21:50.8).
