OPD: 21-year-old arrested after overnight firearm discharge investigation

A 21-year-old man has been arrested following an overnight investigation of a firearm discharge incident, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

According to OPD, officers responded just before 11 p.m. on September 20 to the 4000 block of Mt. Vernon Drive after a caller reported multiple bullet holes in her home. Patrol officers arrived on scene and began an initial investigation, and detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division were called in to assist.

Authorities said Trevor Aull, 21, was named as a person of interest related to the firearm discharge incident. Kentucky State Police conducted a traffic stop, and Aull was taken into custody by OPD shortly after the firearm discharge complaint, according to the release.

Authorities said Aull did not cooperate with detectives during questioning. At this time, the charges he faces are related to the traffic stop. The firearm discharge incident remains under investigation.

According to OPD, Aull was arrested and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on charges of:

  • Trafficking in Marijuana over 5 lbs, 1st offense (enhancement)
  • Using Restricted ammo During a Felony (No Shots)
  • Disregarding Stop Sign
  • Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess
