Carl Edward Woosnam, 80, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born January 14, 1945 in Daviess County to the late Carl Frederick Woosnam and Virginia Frances Stiff Woosnam. Ed retired from Whirlpool where he worked as a superintendent and was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ. He is a former active-duty United States Marine. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, family night and volunteering at the Help Office.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bowman Woosnam; daughters, Kris Edelen (John), Cindy Lee (Roger), and Carey Ricke (John); son, Neil Woosnam (Mandy); grandchildren, Matthew Woosnam (Amanda), Jacob Kasinger (Londyn), Travis Bailey (Hanna), Blake Lee, Madelon Woosnam, Luke Ricke, Molly Ricke, Madison Lee Caldwell (Jace), and Lilly Ribay; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kenneth Woosnam (Yvonne), Debbie Mullendore, and Nana Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Miss America.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
