Beef ‘O’ Brady’s earned the “Dough$ Maker (Non-traditional Pizza)” award during the inaugural Owensboro Times Pizza Week, selling more creations than any other restaurant in that category. Their winning entry, the Supreme Pizza Dippers, proved to be both creative and crowd-pleasing.
The “Dough$ Maker (Non-traditional Pizza)” award is sponsored by WBKR 92.5.
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s dish featured crispy tortillas filled with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and green peppers, skewered and served with pepperoncini. Each order came with house-made ranch and marinara for dipping, plus Parmesan Cajun Ranch fries to round out the meal.
Franchise owner Stacy Bratcher said the award was a pleasant surprise and credited her team for making it happen.
“We appreciate the community coming out and trying our entry,” she said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be anything. All of the credit goes to our staff and to the community.”
Bratcher said with only a small conveyor oven in the kitchen, traditional pizzas weren’t realistic at Pizza Week volume. Instead, the team leaned on their grill cooks to design something easy to execute in large numbers, fun to eat, and unique to Beef’s.
“We just tried to think of something that would be easy to execute in large numbers and something a little different as well,” she said. “Everybody loves our ranch, so we wanted to feature that. And honestly, the staff worked really hard on it. They were the ones back there making it happen every day.”
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s, located at 3189 Fairview Drive, has been serving Owensboro families for nearly two decades, and Bratcher said the long-standing community support is what keeps them going.
“We’ve had people that started coming here when they were little kids, and now they’re bringing their own children in here, having their birthday parties here,” she said. “It’s just neat to see our customers grow and get older and still come to Beef’s to celebrate.”
For Bratcher, Pizza Week was about more than sales — it was about community.
“It’s so important to support the people that pour their heart and soul into opening up a business and helping the community,” she said. “We tried several of the pizzas ourselves, and it was great to see everyone coming together and supporting each other.”
