Audubon Area Community Care Clinic is teaming up with United Healthcare to bring mobile mammogram services to several Owensboro locations next week — making breast cancer screenings more accessible to local residents regardless of insurance status.

The mobile unit will operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following days and locations:

  • October 13: 1620 Frederica Street (parking available in rear)
  • October 14: 4215 Benttree Drive
  • October 15: 501 Walnut Street (located at the Daniel Pitino Shelter; large rear parking lot available)

Appointments can be scheduled by calling 270-686-6040, though walk-ins will be accepted as time allows.

“Early detection saves lives, and mammograms are one of the most effective tools we have in the fight against breast cancer,” said Dan Eaton, Program Director at Audubon Area Community Care Clinic. “We’re proud to bring this service directly to our community and ensure that everyone — regardless of insurance status — has access to this critical screening.”

The initiative is part of Audubon Area’s ongoing commitment to providing preventive healthcare for underserved populations across western Kentucky.

United Healthcare’s participation comes through its Empowering Health program, which focuses on expanding access to care and addressing social factors such as housing, nutrition, and education that affect overall well-being.

Audubon Area Community Care Clinic operates multiple sites in Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, and Union counties, including standalone clinics, school-based health centers, and mobile units. Services are available to all patients, with a sliding fee scale based on income and household size.
