Owensboro Health’s annual Partners in Aging event will return on October 28, offering older adults and their caregivers a day focused on health, wellness, and connection.

The free community event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Owensboro Health Healthpark, 1006 Ford Ave.

Designed to empower aging adults and those who support them, Partners in Aging features free health screenings, educational sessions, cooking demonstrations, and access to local resources that promote independence and long-term wellness.

“This event is about connection,” said Dr. Andrew Collins, who will deliver the opening message. “Older adults want to live strong, full lives. We want to be part of that journey with them.”

The day’s schedule includes:

  • 9:30 a.m. – Tai Chi session
  • 10 a.m. – “Food for Thought” cooking demo featuring the MIND diet for brain health
  • 11 a.m. – Expert lecture by Colton Powell of Thompson & Associates
  • Noon – Appetizers and Q&A panel discussion
  • 1 p.m. – Closing remarks from Dr. Collins

The vendor hall will remain open throughout the event, allowing guests to browse at their own pace. Participating teams include Owensboro Health departments such as Family Medicine, Pharmacy, Heart & Lung Rehab, and Tobacco Cessation, along with community organizations including the Green River District Health Department, RiverValley Behavioral Health, Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Kentucky, the Senior Community Center of Owensboro-Daviess County, and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum, among others.
