Advancing to the 3rd Region Tournament for the first time since 2013, Owensboro cruised past Grayson County 6-0 to advance to the semi-finals, which are set for later tonight against Ohio County at 7:30 pm CT. Lily Nieman continued her heroic goal-scoring season, recording a hat trick and dishing out two assists, while Ella Hall recorded three assists and added a goal. Lilly Paige Early and Amelia Calhoun rounded out the team’s scoring.
“We started out very slow and played a bit sloppy tonight, but were able to put together some plays throughout the night,” Owensboro Head Coach Sarah Poole said. “We are happy with the win and are focusing on the next game.”
