Norma Covetts McDaniel, 94, of Owensboro, passed away on October 17, 2025. She was born on August 13, 1931, to the late Kenneth Covetts and Leota Sands.
Norma had a gift for making people feel welcome. She loved cooking and found joy in feeding everyone who came through her door—family, friends, and even unexpected guests never left hungry. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home. Norma and her husband shared a passion for buying and flipping houses, turning each one into something beautiful with care and hard work. She had an eye for detail and a knack for making any space feel inviting. A devoted homemaker, Norma took great pride in caring for her family and creating a warm, loving home where countless memories were made.
In addition to her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Robert A. McDaniel, as well as her brothers, Kenneth, Jr., Waitman, and Charles Ray Covetts.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bruce (Sheila) McDaniel, Terry (Cindy) McDaniel, and Suzanne Cox; her grandchildren, Cari (Keith) Bracy, Julie (Sean) Emberton, Heather (Chad) Brown, Hillary McDaniel, Jarod (Amanda) McDaniel, Tyler Cox, Ashley Cox, and Chelsea Cox; and many cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Private family services will take place at a later date, with burial in Lewisport, KY.
