Marian Loretta Wheatley, 77, of Lewisport, passed away on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and under the compassionate care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born on November 13, 1947, in Daviess County and was the beloved daughter of the Herbert and Audeline Johnson.
Marian dedicated 45 years to her career at E. Louis Johnson & David Johnson Law Office. A devote Catholic, she expressed her faith through kindness, integrity, and devotion to others. Marian found joy in reading, sewing, and most importantly, spending quality time with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James Rodney Wheatley; son, James Jared Wheatley; father, Herbert Johnson; brother, Paul Martin Johnson, Sr.; and sisters, Mary Cundiff and Barbara Roehm.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Audeline Johnson; daughter, Deborah Rust; grandchildren, Paige Sandage, Logan (Kennedy) Pritchett, Abigail (James) Snyder, Breana (Gavin) Basham, and Ian Rust; great grandchildren, Sonny Wayne Sandage and Aleena James Basham; brothers, Steve (Patty) Johnson and Thomas (Krystyna) Johnson; sisters, Nancy Wheatley and Gladys Wall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held October 24, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church, 815 Pell St, Lewisport, KY 42351, with Father Brain Johnson to officiate.
