The Cottage Farm Stand & Baking Co. will celebrate the season this weekend with its fifth annual Pumpkin & Pickle Festival, a two-day event featuring more than 100 vendors, live music, and family attractions.
The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 25-26 at The Cottage, located at 6869 KY 56 across from the Airport–Sorgho Firehouse. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
According to a release, festivalgoers can enjoy an array of pumpkin- and pickle-themed treats, including fried pickles, pickle corn dogs, pickle tater tots, and pumpkin-shaped cookies. The Cottage will also serve up its own line of homemade pickled favorites such as kosher dills, bread-and-butter pickles, and pickled okra.
“We love seeing families come out and make memories together,” said Marlene Knight, owner of The Cottage. “It’s all about celebrating the season, supporting local makers, and having fun with a little twist — pumpkins and pickles.”
The festival includes a large pumpkin patch, pony rides, a petting zoo, a treasure dig, balloon animals, and pumpkin painting. Guests can also take on The Cottage’s expanded five-acre corn maze, which features a mailbox mystery game where participants search for clues to win prizes. Maze admission is $5 per person, with children under 2 admitted free.
Live entertainment throughout the weekend will feature local performers including Tyler Garrett, Dakota Hayden, Sarah Beth Brewer, and The Lowland Ramblers. Artisan booths will showcase handmade jewelry, clothing, home décor, baked goods, and other crafts, giving shoppers a head start on fall gift buying.
The Pumpkin & Pickle Festival is part of a month of seasonal activities at The Cottage. The corn maze is open daily in October, offering a family-friendly adventure for $5 per person.
For those looking for a fright, The Cottage will end October with Terror in the Corn Maze, a haunted attraction running October 29 through November 1. The experience includes three attractions — a haunted corn maze, a haunted trail in the woods, and a haunted tobacco barn — all for $20 per person. Each night will feature live actors from local high schools, with a portion of proceeds supporting their drama programs.
