CENTRAL CITY – Jerry Paul Deason, 79, of Central City, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 12:10AM at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Deason was born January 15, 1946, in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired sales associate with Frito Lay, and was also a self-employed carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Deason; mother, Ruthie Marie Deason; sister, Helen Brand; and brother-in-law, Orvil Brand.
He is survived by his wife, Lavonda Pittman Deason; daughters, Lisa (Daniel) Wallace, Jerrah (Scott) Bushroe, and Dana Thornberry; sons, Aaron (Sabrina) Sumner and Rodney Mayes; grandchildren, Nora Szteiter and Jaret Sumner; brother, Forest Deason; sister, Ruth Higgs; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 11:00AM at Memorial Gardens in Powderly, with Forest Deason officiating. Burial to follow. Tucker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
