Authorities say three people have been arrested after police seized suspected meth, fentanyl pills, and a stolen gun during two search warrants this week.
According to the Owensboro Police Department, the Street Crimes Unit executed the first warrant early on the morning of October 28 at a hotel in the 500 block of West 2nd Street following an investigation into illegal narcotics distribution. Officers arrested 25-year-old Logan Husk and 33-year-old Mallory Carter, both of Owensboro, after locating suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, and two guns, according to an OPD release.
A second search warrant was later obtained for Husk’s residence in the 800 block of George Street, authorities said. The release says detectives found additional suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl pills, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, and a stolen gun. Also inside the home were 47-year-old Mary Martinez, of Owensboro, and two juvenile children, officials said.
Husk, Carter, and Martinez were all taken to the Daviess County Detention Center on numerous drug and weapons charges.
Husk was charged with:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st offense (fentanyl)
- Two counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Enhanced Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine)
- Enhanced Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st offense (fentanyl)
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense
- Receiving Stolen Property (firearm)
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Carter was charged with:
- Enhanced Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine)
- Enhanced Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st offense (fentanyl)
- Trafficking in Marijuana
- Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon
Martinez was charged with:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st offense (fentanyl)
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Endangering the Welfare of a Minor
