Becky Lucas, age 69 of Hardinsburg, KY passed away October 30, 2025, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. She was born in Hardinsburg, KY on August 12, 1956, one of 10 children of the late Everett Franklin and Ida Madeline Dowell Harper. Becky retired from the Breckinridge County Board of Education where she spent many years working in the cafeteria at Irvington Elementary School. She enjoyed sports, especially watching her sons and grandchildren participate. She liked to travel and work in her flower garden. She was an excellent cook and was famous among her family for her desserts. Becky’s family was very close knit, and they spent many weekends and holidays together celebrating their family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Janice Lane, Darren and Kimbery Harper.
Becky is survived by Wayne, her husband of 50 years.
3 sons: Todd Lucas (Tiffany) of McQuady, KY; Chad Lucas (Britney) of Hardinsburg, KY and Brandon Lucas (Peggy) of Carmel, IN
6 grandchildren: Ethan, Shane, Hadley, Bryce, Myles and Palmer Lucas
1 brother: Danny Harper (Alicia) of Hardinsburg, KY
6 sisters: Deborah Wilson (Joe), Linda Jolly and Beverly Hinton (Jim) of Hardinsburg, KY;
Connie Harper and Pam Howell of Owensboro, KY; Karen Brooks (Tommy) of Louisville, KY
Many nieces, nephews and their families.
Funeral services will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1 PM with burial in the High Plains Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, 1 – 5 PM and Monday after 8:30 AM. All times are central.
