David M. Hill, 85, of Owensboro, passed away in his home on November 1, 2025. He was born on August 7, 1940, to the late Yewell T. and Martha E. Hill.
David was a proud member of Union Local 181, where he worked for many years as a skilled heavy equipment operator. He had a lifelong passion for racing, both as a race car driver and a devoted fan who rarely missed watching the Sunday races. At home, David found joy in tending to his yard, spending time with his beloved pets, and sharing his love of cooking—especially his famous fudge candy—with family and friends. He also enjoyed trips to the casino with his wife, where they made countless memories together. Above all, David cherished his family, who were the center of his world and the greatest joy of his life.
Along with his parents David is preceded in death by his wife, Marian Jane Hill; sisters, Faye Hill Huskisson and Bonnie Hill; grandson, Doug (Jessica) Witt; and sister-in-law, Mary Hill
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Cynthia R. Kerr, Cheryl D. Hill, and Vicki L. Vaughn; grandchildren, Tiffany (Jack) Perkins, Christy (Josh) Rose, Deker Puckett (Hope), Destiny Witt (Zach), Cortney (Kenny) Skinner, Angela (Tyler) Stanley, and Tyler (Macy) Howard; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Nolan, Ricky, Hadley, Haven, Kaiser, Sonnie, Brooklyn, R.J., Gracie, Summer, Zoey, Paige, Grant, Addyson, Maddox, Grayson, Addison, and Easton; great-great-granddaughter, Saylor; siblings, Richard Hill, Gayle (Sonny) Wheeler, and Karen (Joe) McBride; brother-in-law, Gene Huskisson; and several nieces and nephews.
