The Junior League of Owensboro is bringing back its popular fundraiser, Battle of the Bartenders. The event, set for 5 p.m. Saturday at The Lot (900 East 4th Street), features bartenders from across western Kentucky competing to craft the best signature cocktail — all while raising funds to improve hygiene accessibility in Daviess County.

Proceeds benefit JLO’s community initiatives, including Free Laundry Day, hygiene kit distribution, and partnerships with local organizations serving youth and families.

“Hygiene poverty is an often unseen barrier to confidence, opportunity, and well-being,” said JLO President Maria Clark. “By attending Battle of the Bartenders, our community is directly supporting programs that ensure families have access to basic essentials like deodorant, soap, and laundry services. Your evening out makes a meaningful difference in your community.”

Participants from Owensboro, Henderson, and Bowling Green will showcase their creativity as they compete for two titles: People’s Choice, voted on by attendees; and Judges’ Choice, selected by a panel of local judges. Admission includes three drink tickets to sample each unique creation.

While enjoying the cocktails, guests can watch college football on large screens, play tailgate games such as cornhole and disc golf putting, and grab a bite from local vendors, including Lure Smoke Shack, Primal Craft Dogz, and The Sweet Spot.

Tickets are $35 for general admission and $20 for military veterans with ID, and include three cocktail samples. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or reserved in advance at jlowensboro.org/events/battle-of-the-bartenders-tailgate-party. The event is open to ages 21 and over; valid ID is required. Additional drink tickets will be available for purchase, and Lure will offer a full bar.

The event will be hosted in partnership with Ben Skiadas, a local beverage industry veteran, and The Lot, one of Owensboro’s premier entertainment venues.
