
Joyce Clayton Willis, 93, of Owensboro passed away November 8, 2025, at her home. She was born in Daviess County on September 17, 1932, to the late Charles and Mary Calhoun Clayton. Joyce worked for many years for GE. Later in life, she worked in the cafeteria at Owensboro Middle School. A talented and creative soul, she found joy in quilting, crocheting beautiful afghans, and crafting. Joyce was a faithful and longtime member of Immaculate Parish.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sylvan “Sib” Willis, a son, Jerry Rumage, a brother, Bobby Clayton, and a sister, Janice Smith.
Joyce is survived by her children Tony Rumage of Whitesville, Janet Willis of Owensboro, Alan (Sherry) Willis of Owensboro, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild; her siblings, Jean Abell, Joan Payne, Jimmy Clayton (Gail), Johnny Clayton (Patsy Ann), Judy Grant, and Joe Bill Clayton (Shirley); along with many nieces and nephews who call her Aunt Doye.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Immaculate Parish, with Father Larry McBride officiating. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. with prayers being said at 6:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
