Heather Marie MacLeod, 70, passed away on November 14, 2025 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Born on September 26, 1955 in Michigan, Heather led a life shaped by dedication to her work and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
Heather was preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Jack MacLeod and by her cousin, David Freeland.
Her career as a supervisor in wastewater treatment took her to Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Her professional journey led her to St. Thomas, where she lived and worked for several years. Surrounded by sun and sea, she found joy in the natural beauty of island life.
She had a deep love for the beach, fishing, and golf-pastimes that reflected her appreciation for nature and her spirited personality. Heather was known for her humor, warmth, and kindness.
She shared a close bond with her aunt and best buddy, Shirley Davenport. Heather cherished the relationships she had with her cousins Diane (Jon) Bird, Judy (Jeff) Rumage, Mike (Gloria) Freeland, and Doug (Amy) Freeland, as well as their children and grandchildren.
