Kentucky State University Extension has opened a new regional center in Owensboro and is looking to hire three full-time agents as it expands its presence in western Kentucky.
The KSU Extension Owensboro Regional Center is located at 609 Carlton Drive and is now serving as the base for the university’s growing outreach in the region. Officials said the move strengthens partnerships already in place and opens the door for new collaborations.
“We are truly excited to have a local presence in Owensboro,” said Megan Jaspersen, KSU’s Western Kentucky Area Extension Director. “As Kentucky State University Extension expands, we are looking forward to continuing regional partnerships that have already been established and hoping to build new relationships as well. By working collaboratively with existing resources and partners, we aim to create meaningful progress for our local community.”
The new office is hiring for three regional agent positions: 4-H, Horticulture, and Family and Consumer Sciences. All roles will be based out of the Owensboro center. Job descriptions and application details are available on the Kentucky State University website under employment opportunities.
Amanda Hardy, Area Director for the University of Kentucky Extension covering Owensboro, said the addition of KSU’s office brings new opportunities for collaboration.
“We are excited to have the presence of Kentucky State University Extension in Daviess County,” Hardy said. “There are so many opportunities to meet the needs of the public. University of Kentucky Extension looks forward to the programming opportunities to come.”
KSU Associate Dean of Strategic Communications Dr. Michael Strysick also expressed support for highlighting the new office and encouraged residents and prospective applicants to reach out with questions.
