Carolyn White, 87, entered heaven on Thursday, November 27, 2025. She was born in Falls of Rough, Kentucky in Breckinridge County. She was a 1957 graduate of Breckinridge County High School. After high school, she married Benjamin White and became an Army wife. She lived the Army life, until settling in Owensboro in 1973. Carolyn loved being a Mema to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunco, going on trips, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin “Tommy” White; son, Robert “Robby” White; grandson, Shaun Winstead; mother, Alma Rhodes; brother, Ivan Rhodes; and a sister, Juanita Dame.
She is survived by her daughters, Cinda Petrie and her sons, Kyle and Chad Petrie, Regina Howard (Mark Edwards) and her granddaughters, Gabby, Emma, and Taylor Winstead; son, Thomas “Tommy” White and his wife, Renee and their son, Thomas “T.J.” White; sister, Nera Burch; grandson, George White; granddaughters, Melissa Dewitt and Tina Gonzalez; great-grandson, Dylan White; five other great-granddaughters; four other great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Falls of Rough. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
