Famous Bistro’s popular lunch menu will now be available in the evenings through a new collaboration with The Pub on Second, adding more dining options for downtown patrons.

Beginning this week, customers enjoying drinks at the Pub on Second can order items from the Bistro’s daytime menu after 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The partnership allows the Pub to offer food service without having an in-house kitchen. At the same time, the Bistro extends the availability of longtime staples like grinders, pizzas, and Greek-inspired dishes.

“We’ve had people ask if they could get a sandwich or a grinder in the evening, and now they can,” said Pub owner Bill Brown. “It’s a win-win. We sell more drinks, and they get to sell more of their great food.”

The process is simple: customers at the Pub can call Famous Bistro directly to place an order. A Bistro staff member will deliver the meal to the Pub, and all payments are handled through the restaurant.

Executive Chef Jared Bradley said the idea came from wanting to make better use of their existing lunch offerings.

“Our kitchen is already set up around the lunch menu,” Bradley said. “We switch to dinner at 4 p.m. and can’t afford to give up a table for a lunch option at that point — but we still have the food, the staff, and the ability to make it. So why not keep selling it through another outlet?”

Bradley said the move opens up access to fan favorites like the veggie grinder and Reuben — both of which he called among the best in town — without cutting into the Bistro’s limited seating. The restaurant seats only 44 people indoors, and its small kitchen is already maxed out during dinner hours.

“We’ve had people who couldn’t get a reservation ask about grabbing dinner at the Pub and ordering from us,” Bradley said. “Now it’s official. It gives people another way to enjoy our food and keeps them downtown.”

He added that the collaboration reflects a larger goal shared by many downtown business owners.

“We’re all in this together,” Bradley said. “Anything that keeps people downtown and gives them a good experience — that’s something worth doing.”
