Families are invited to enjoy a free breakfast and festive fun at Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant & Bar on December 13 during the “Pancakes with Santa” event benefiting the Daniel Pitino Shelter.
The event will run from 8-10 a.m. before the restaurant opens for brunch and is open to the community at no cost. Children can enjoy a free pancake breakfast, take pictures with Santa (courtesy of M Squared Marketing), and soak in the holiday spirit.
“This is something Big Whiskey’s has done in other communities, and it’s always been successful,” said owner Alan Lawrence. “We wanted to bring it to Owensboro as a way to give back to the kids and the community.”
While the breakfast is free, donations are welcome and will be collected on-site for the Daniel Pitino Shelter, which provides food, housing, and support to those in need.
“It’s a great way to support a local cause and maybe even introduce some new people to our restaurant,” Lawrence said. “We’re really excited to see new faces and welcome them in.”
The event also coincides with the city’s “Hot Chocolate Hop,” and Big Whiskey’s will be participating in that as well — offering both kid-friendly hot chocolate in the morning and an “adult version” later in the day.
Brunch service at Big Whiskey’s will begin at 10 a.m. following the event.
The event is presented in partnership with M Squared Marketing, the Daniel Pitino Shelter, and Big Whiskey’s. A promotional flyer for the event can be viewed below.
