Sharon Louise West, 64, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home, following a long period of illness. She was born in Panama to the late Charles W. and Mary Ann Collins Gottman, while her father was serving in the military.
Sharon was a graduate of Tell City High School. She continued her studies at Elizabethtown Community College and Owensboro Junior College of Business. Although she was primarily a dedicated homemaker, she worked as a hotel manager, in a cemetery office and most recently as a Care Companion.
She was of the Pentecostal Faith and regularly attended several churches over the years. Sharon treasured quality times with family, especially with her grandson, Elijah. Much of this was centered around the holidays and often included cooking, which she enjoyed. She also enjoyed crafting, good Christian music, crossword puzzles, fishing and spoiling her dog.
Sharon was preceded in death by a son, Timothy West; a sister, Susan Gottman; and sister-in-law, Shawn Gottman.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Gregory Wayne West; sons, Brandon West (Rebekah) and Jacob West (Calley); grandson, Elijah West; twin sister, Amy Gottman of Henderson; brother, Bill Gottman of Owensboro; niece Kristina Miller; and great niece, Jessica Miller.
The memorial service for Sharon will be held at 1 pm, Saturday December 13, 2025, at Christian Outreach Church, 2110 W. Second St., Owensboro, KY 42301.
