Behind an impressive third quarter in which the Aces scored 29 points, they took care of business, beating Union County 80-41. Solly Smith led the way with 14 points, while Dre’Mail Carothers and Gavin Brasher both added 13 points. Braylon Coots scored 10 of his 12 points in the first half, and Hudson Ebelhar hit two threes to go along with his 10 points.
“Our group responded well tonight after a tough outing on Saturday,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Tabor Shadowen said. “We did some soul-searching these last few days. The boys accepted some hard coaching, and they answered the call tonight. We were a totally different team compared to Saturday. Our engagement and intensity on the defensive end returned to our standard. 26 assists to nine turnovers will win you a lot of games, and we outrebounded a very strong rebounding team. We’re still coming together, we’re still learning, and I am proud of their approach to the process.”
The Aces return to action on Friday when they travel to take on South Warren.
