Panthers overcome slow start to beat Henderson County 68-57

Tied 48-48 entering the fourth quarter, Daviess County outscored Henderson County 20-9 down the stretch to beat the Colonels 68-57. The Panthers trailed 18-11 entering the second quarter, but took a 32-29 lead into halftime. Henderson County jumped back on top 41-39 in the third quarter, but the Panthers closed on a 9-7 run, setting up the final frame.

DeAaron Watkins was lights out, scoring a game-high 27 points on 9-10 shooting, while also grabbing 13 rebounds for another double-double. Jonathan Moss added 22 points, four assists, and two steals, and Michael Acton finished with 15 points, four steals, three assists, three rebounds, and one block.

The Panthers will be back in action Friday night when they compete in the Boys Southwire Classic against Somerset Christian School.
