The American Cornhole Organization will kick off the new year with a return to Owensboro. The ACO Super Major is set for January 1-3 at the Convention Center.
Competition kicks off at 9 a.m. on January 1 with the ACO World’s qualifying events. The day also features the Juniors Challenger and Premier competitions along with Women’s and Senior’s championships. Play carries through the weekend with January 2 featuring the Professional Series’ Top 16 matchups.
The Super Major features opportunities for anyone, including non-members, to play and win.
This will be the first of three ACO events taking place in Owensboro in 2026, with the ACO State Championships scheduled for June 13-14 and the ACO World Championships spanning from July 15-26.
January’s Super Major is a primary points-earning tournament for players to qualify for the World Championships. Other points-earning competitions include the ACO Regional and ACO Conference Championships throughout the season.
Ten different divisions will be in action at the Convention Center throughout the weekend. These span all the way from the professional series to junior amateur.
“As always, we cannot wait to get back to our cornhole home away from home,” said ACO President Frank Geers. “Owensboro ups the ante every single time we come to town, and we cannot wait to see the next gem placed in the O-Town crown. It’s the perfect prelude to our return for the ACO World Championships for Season 21 in July.”
The American Cornhole Organization works with the Visit Owensboro staff extensively throughout the year to make these competitions possible.
