The Owensboro Museum of Science and History is inviting families to ring in 2026 a little early during their annual Noon Year’s Eve celebration, one of the museum’s most recognizable and beloved events.
Sponsored by U.S. Bank, this year’s festivities will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 31 at the museum, located at 122 East 2nd Street. Admission is $5 per person, with free entry for members.
The event is designed for children and families, offering a festive New Year’s experience well before bedtime. Highlights include magic shows by Marcus Duke at 9:45 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:15 a.m., along with face painting, carnival-style games, and the iconic balloon drop in the museum’s mammoth lobby at noon.
“Noon Year’s Eve is one of the Museum’s long-standing traditions,” said Museum Director Isaac Settle. “It’s a great event for kids on New Year’s Eve that really does a great job replicating the atmosphere of ringing in the new year.”
Settle added that this year’s event holds extra meaning for him personally.
“It’ll be extra special for me because my 5-month-old will be there to watch the balloon drop,” he said.
