Ashton Morgan Keown, 21, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. He was born in Owensboro on February 28, 2004 to Gabe Smithers and Amber Keown French. Ashton attended Owensboro High School. He always liked to make people laugh and do good things to help people out. He enjoyed free styling and writing raps and he also loved to fix things.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Terri Smithers; great-grandmother, Emily Eddington; and great-aunt, Carolyn Taylor.
In addition to his parents, Ashton is survived by his siblings, Kaylee French, Jayden French, Anthony Smithers, Logan Smithers, Meghan Smithers, Janessa Smithers and Malaki Smithers; grandmothers, Mae Embry and Sandy French; aunt, Hope Keown; and many cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
