James Dale Trogdon, 83, of Owensboro, formerly of Pleasant Ridge, died Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was born September 7, 1942, in Daviess County, to the late Henry Trogdon and Icie Emma Trogdon. Jim was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ. In his younger years, he worked in the oil field, Sun Windows, was employed at Whirlpool, and owned his own gravel hauling business. Jim always enjoyed automobiles and working on his own, as well as those of family and friends.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Vondel Ray Trogdon; niece, Sherry Estes; nephew, Billy Gene Trogdon; and a cousin, Sharon Frazier.
Survivors include his nieces, Vohnell (Mike) Ferrell and Teresa (Donnie) Duke; nephew, Curtis (Cindy) Trogdon; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and a cousin, Patsy Drewery.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Cecil Funeral Home in Whitesville, Kentucky with the Rev. Jimmy Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
