A second person has been arrested after more than 1.5 pounds of suspected meth and other narcotics were seized as detectives continue a drug trafficking investigation that began with a traffic stop earlier this week, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

Authorities said in a release that OPD Street Crimes Unit detectives identified 28-year-old Brittani Tutt as an additional suspect in the ongoing investigation involving 40-year-old Justin Walker.

Walker was arrested Monday night after police seized suspected meth and cocaine along with a handgun following a traffic stop and brief chase on Griffith Avenue. Tutt was located and detained on Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of East Fourth Street, police say.

Detectives reported finding trafficking amounts of suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside a bag Tutt was carrying. A subsequent search warrant was obtained for the location where Tutt was temporarily staying, which led to the seizure of additional suspected methamphetamine. Authorities said that in total, detectives seized more than 1.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, approximately one gram of cocaine, several ounces of marijuana, and hydrocodone.

Tutt was arrested and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges, according to OPD:

  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
  • Trafficking in Marijuana, 1st Offense (Less than 8 Ounces)
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Cocaine)
  • Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Hydrocodone)
