Trinity (Whitesville) beat Apollo in an important 3rd Region match, while Daviess County and Owensboro Catholic both won. In other action, Hancock County lost to Butler County on the road.

Trinity (Whitesville) 55, Apollo 40

Seventh grader Sadie Morris scored a career-high 18 points to power the Lady Raiders past Apollo 55-40. Ry’Lynne Meserve hit a pair of threes to go along with her 17 points, and Preslee Meserve was third on the team in scoring with eight points.

“I was proud of the team effort. Our defense was good with a lot of deflections, and I was pleased with that,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Emily Hernandez said. “Everyone worked together offensively, and I was pleased with their team first attitude.”

For the E-Gals, Maleah Potter and Mattingly Taylor both scored seven points, LaShay Vera added six points, and Brylei Brake, Aubrey Johnson, and Eriyah Curry each finished with five points.

Daviess County 62, Madisonville-North Hopkins 41

Kennedy Lane scored 13 of her game-high 31 points in the second quarter to power the Lady Panthers past Madisonville-North Hopkins 62-41. Riley Hayden was second on Daviess County in scoring with 14 points, and Maddie Baron added seven points.

“The second quarter was as good as I have seen us on both ends of the floor,” Daviess County Head Coach Natalie Payne said. “We are buying into doing the little things that make us successful.”

Butler County 60, Hancock County 43

Carolina Jones scored 22 points, and Ansley House added 11 points as the Lady Hornets fell to Butler County 60-43.

Owensboro Catholic 48, Bowling Green 45

Claudia Munsey hit six threes to go with her 20 points as the Lady Aces outlasted Bowling Green 48-45. Taylor Mannahan and Katie Hagan both scored eight points, and Sophia Newby added seven points.
