James “Jimmy” G. Phillips, 83, of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, formerly from Owensboro, passed away on February 10, 2026. He was born February 23, 1942 in Owensboro. Jimmy graduated from Ohio County High School. Immediately after high school, he joined the United States Army. He served 33 years and is a Vietnam combat veteran his rank was Sergeant First Class with metals and honors. Jimmy was a member of Plumber and Pipefitters Local 633 for 58 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garnet and Mary Ethel Phillips of Pleasant Ridge, KY.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosemarie Phillips; son, Michael (Lisa) Phillips; three grandchildren, Sean (Whitney), Melissa, and Jonathan; and a great grandson, Solomon.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, Ohio County, KY. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
