OPD: Man charged with murder following fatal Frederica Street collision

OPD: The Daviess County Coroner’s Office identified the female pedestrian who was killed as 39-year-old Amanda Foster. The investigation remains ongoing with the Accident Reconstruction Unit.

Owensboro Police Department has charged Anderson Xol, 21, following a collision that killed one pedestrian and critically injured another on Frederica Street near Fulton Drive.

According to court records, Xol is charged with murder, first-degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident / failure to render aid or assistance, and no operator’s license.

Police said officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 8:46 p.m. on February 18 on a report of a collision involving a vehicle and pedestrians. One pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, and a second pedestrian was transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities reported the vehicle initially left the scene but returned a short time later. Officers documented signs of intoxication, and a breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit, according to the citation.

Bail was set at $500,000 cash. An arraignment is scheduled Friday morning in Daviess District Court.
