Update: Federal immigration officials say the driver charged in last week’s fatal hit-and-run on Frederica Street is an illegal immigrant from Guatemala. Local authorities confirmed Monday that a second pedestrian has died from the incident. (Full story here.)

The Daviess County Coroner’s Office identified the pedestrian who was killed Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle.

According to the Owensboro Police Department, the coroner identified the victim as 39-year-old Amanda Foster. OPD said the investigation remains ongoing with the Accident Reconstruction Unit.

According to OPD, 21-year-old Anderson Xol was arrested on February 19 following a collision the night before that killed one pedestrian and critically injured another on Frederica Street near Fulton Drive.

Authorities said Xol is charged with murder, first-degree assault, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance, and no operator’s license.

Authorities reported the vehicle initially left the scene but returned a short time later. Officers documented signs of intoxication, and a breath test indicated a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit, according to the citation.

Court records show Xol’s bail was initially set at $500,000 cash but was increased to $1,000,000 cash during his arraignment on February 20. He is scheduled to appear in court again on February 27.
