
Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Hale Tice, 89, went to her heavenly home on Monday, February 23, 2026. She was born on June 13, 1936 in Daviess County to the late McAtee B. Hale and Mamie Conrad Hale. She graduated from Owensboro Technical High School. Dottie was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. She worked at General Electric Co., Pinkerton Tobacco Co., and retired from the Summitt Country Club Golf Course after 17 years. She loved working in the yard with her flowers, playing cards, reading her bible every day and baking cakes for her friends at Christmas time. She was also a big University of Kentucky and Kentucky Wesleyan fan and like to listen to Alan Jackson gospel music.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Billy Merrill Tice; daughter Donna Kay Tice Colbert; a brother, Junior Hale; sister, Gladys Keown; and sister-in-law, Joanne Hale.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Mindi Mills; grandson, Jarad Howard; two great-grandsons, Jayden and Isaac Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Tony Shouse officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am -12:00pm on Friday at the funeral home.
