Phillip Palmer, 79, of Owensboro, KY passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky at the Heartford House. He was born on October 10, 1946 in Archer City, Texas to the late Louis Jacob and Hattie May Palmer. Phillip was a United States Navy Veteran serving during Vietnam from 1965 to 1969. He worked in maintenance at both NSA and Century Aluminum. Phillip enjoyed watching University of Kentucky basketball and Westerns. He was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed coin and pocket knife collecting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Lou Cain Palmer; and sister, Phyllis Elzey.
Survivors include his son, Phillip Aaron Palmer (Tina); and two grandsons, Logan Palmer and Christopher Palmer.
Funeral services will be at 2:00pm on Friday, February 27, 2026 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
