Two Owensboro men were arrested Tuesday night after fleeing from Kentucky State Police officers.
Just after 11 p.m. Tuesday, a KSP trooper traveling on W. 4th Street observed a Buick Century driven by a person with an active warrant. When the vehicle turned onto Texas Avenue, the trooper attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver accelerated in an attempt to flee; traveling various streets including Ebach, Fifth and Triplett streets.
When the vehicle turned onto Breckenridge Street, an assisting trooper performed a legal intervention (pit maneuver) with his cruiser causing the fleeing car to spin sideways to a stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
The driver, Dillon R. Lindsey, 21 of Owensboro, was transported to the Daviess County Detention Center and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing/evading (motor vehicle), driving under the influence, tampering with physical evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief.
His passenger, William E. Allen, 23, of Owensboro was also arrested and charged with first-degree fleeing/evading police.
