The magic of Christmas is coming to downtown Owensboro later this month as the world premiere of Bachelor Santa takes place at the RiverPark Center on November 29 at 7 p.m.
Checked out the trailer here:
Produced by Goldenrod Film & Television, the holiday romantic comedy was filmed entirely in Owensboro and features Jason Tobias, Ella Cannon, and Grace Patterson in leading roles. The red-carpet event will include appearances by the cast, festive surprises, and a touch of Hollywood glitz — all livestreamed for fans who can’t attend in person.
Jeremy Winton and Kristi Kilday, of Goldenrod Productions and Kentucky Sound Stage, said they’re thrilled to debut the film in the city where it was created.
“We wouldn’t do it anywhere else but Owensboro for the world premiere event of Bachelor Santa,” Kilday said. “We’re bringing Hollywood to Owensboro, doing it up right. This is the real Hollywood premiere — a love letter to Kentucky and Owensboro.”
The film showcases several recognizable local landmarks, including the Cupola Club, both the Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn on the riverfront, the Owensboro Convention Center, and the city’s Christmas light displays. Kilday said crews were thankful to the city for keeping decorations up through January so they could capture the festive setting.
“When you see the movie, it is 100% Owensboro through and through,” she said. “You’re going to see your neighbors in it. You’re going to see the bakers, the businesses, and the heart of this community.”
Winton added that a few scenes were filmed at the Kentucky Sound Stage and that the premiere marks another step forward for the region’s film industry.
“Some of the cast members have already been back for other projects, and they love Owensboro,” he said. “We’re proud of how far we’ve come with the sound stage and the opportunities it’s creating.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a new toy to support the Christmas Wish program, which will be collecting donations during the event.
Tickets for the premiere are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
