A new, modern playground is on the way for York Park. Demolition of the existing playground began Monday, with installation of new equipment to follow in the coming weeks.
Officials with the Owensboro Parks & Rec Department said the project is aimed at providing an updated and engaging play space for children and families in the community.
The completion timeline will depend on weather conditions, according to city officials.
While the playground area will be temporarily closed during construction, the rest of York Park will remain open to the public.
